Even in middle school when I was the chubby, unathletic, try hard kid attending Notre Dame Football camps, I couldn’t help but think about what it was going to be like during my time playing at the highest levels. 10 years later, a coach saw that chubby kid grow and offered a full ride scholarship at Miami (Oh)
My childhood dream made reality, playing in front of 102,268 fans at Michigan, Boise State’s blue turf, Coming home on thanksgiving to watch a re run of my team on ESPN.
“If there is no enemy within the enemy outside can do no harm” – African proverb. After studying Psychology and playing football at Miami (Oh) I spent my final semester of college studying abroad. That’s where I realized pain in life is also the fuel for purpose.
It’s also where I found out football wasn’t for me, it took two years to get on the field, and preparing for mind for practice was a mental game. I realized that football was my vehicle to people, and life is about experience!
Football wasn’t it, so I started looking for my purpose. My Favorite Experiences outside of football, working in the judgement & decision making lab, studying performance pressure, pretty cool for an athlete. Studying abroad visiting 14 European countries in 4 month, and my new vehicle for giving back as a Speaker, Entrepreneur, and Facilitator. It feels like I’ve found my purpose, all I had to do was get out of the way. Let Your Purpose Find you.
